Atheism is a belief of the denial of the existence of God because there's no visible evidence or proof of God according to its believers; and this has been the main basis of their argument. It also believe that human beings and the universe are a by-product of chance of unguided set of physical processes, in lame man's terms accidental by-product of universe.
This assertion implies that human beings are a mistake to be here on this planet because they weren't planned to be here, and therefore no hope, no eternal future, and no divine purpose to life apart from man's own ambition.  
For them anything that's not defined by science, reason, and evidence based rational thought  is seen as delusional to be believed. 
What's ironic about this belief is that the believers who are highly intelligent academics many of them, have never been able to prove that there's No God, they haven't provided any empirical evidence to support their claim; and this is the same charge they level against those who believe in the existence of God, Psalm 53, says a fool says in his heart there's no God, because they are corrupt. 
The problem with this belief is that even science proves that there can be believed some invisible element of nature, such as gravity, the force that attracts a body towards the centre of the earth, can only be experienced by its pull, but has no visible presence in nature; and there are many instances of invisible forces that can be experienced but have no impirical evidence in nature. 
God in his nature wasn't meant to be seen with the naked eye according to the bible, because the supernatural elements that surround his nature make it difficult for the eye to behold his glorious presence.
However, we can still experience his presence in nature by the complex design of the universe; which no scientist has been able to categorically told us how it was made, however, they always give us theories, which there's even a split amongst the scientific communities themselves, however, the bible is categorical about who made it and how was made, in Psalm 8:3, says when I consider your heavens, the work of your hands, the moon and the stars, which you have made, an evidence of God's presence in nature.
The bible's version of life gives assurance of hope, good future, and position to prosper, however, atheism gives gloom picture of life, where only human help is needed, and when that fails, you are on your own and depression sets in, but in Christ, you can depend upon the scriptures to point you to the divine love of God which provides real solutions to change physical life, and many people have experienced God's presence in difficult situations.
